River Point Farms is seeking a capable Maintenance Technician to join our onion processing plant team!
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician II performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and facility systems. This role works with moderate independence to support equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and maintain safe operations. Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment, facilities, and utility systems. Troubleshoot common mechanical and electrical issues and complete repairs. Execute preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime. Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur. Replace parts such as motors, belts, bearings, and pumps. Read basic schematics, manuals, and work orders to complete repairs. Assist with equipment installation and modifications. Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a safe work environment and use equipment properly. Keep accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage. Communicate equipment issues and repair needs to supervisors. Support team coordination and work alongside other technicians. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or similar environment. Basic troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems. Experience with preventive maintenance programs. Ability to read basic drawings, manuals, and schematics. Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license. Working conditions:
Regular lifting up to ~50 lbs; prolonged standing and walking; frequent hand use to operate machinery and controls; occasional climbing, kneeling, or crawling; good vision and communication for safety and quality; sustained physical work. Industrial processing or plant environment; machinery and conveyors; dust, fumes, chemicals; wet or slippery surfaces; temperature fluctuations; loud noise requiring hearing protection; shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays; PPE mandatory.
