Job Title:
Cleaning Technician Job Description The Cleaning Technician performs detailed cleaning and light labor tasks in industrial and cleanroom facilities, including work at height on ladders and scissor lifts. This role focuses on final and super-clean activities throughout entire buildings, ensuring ceilings, walls, floors, equipment, and cleanroom areas meet strict cleanliness standards while following all safety and site procedures. Responsibilities Perform detailed cleaning of ceiling beams and overhead structures using ladders and scissor lifts in large industrial facilities. Complete final and super-clean activities for entire buildings, ensuring all assigned areas meet high cleanliness standards. Clean and wipe down walls, including high and hard-to-reach surfaces, following site-specific protocols. Clean and mop floors thoroughly, maintaining safe, dry, and debris-free walking surfaces. Wipe down no-tool equipment and other surfaces carefully to remove dust, residue, and contaminants. Carry out very entry-level maintenance tasks as directed, using basic hand tools safely and correctly. Work in cleanroom environments as required, following all gowning, contamination control, and cleanliness procedures. Use cleaning tools, equipment, and materials properly to achieve consistent and high-quality results. Follow all safety guidelines when working at heights, including safe use of ladders and scissor lifts. Adhere to site-specific dress and gowning requirements, including smocks, hair nets, and static boots when needed. Maintain reliability in attendance and punctuality to support project schedules and team workflows. Learn and follow detailed instructions, adapting to changing tasks and building requirements throughout the week. Support general labor tasks as needed, contributing to the overall cleanliness and readiness of the facility. Essential Skills Current scissor lift competency and ability to operate a scissor lift safely in a work environment. Proven ability to perform general labor tasks in physically demanding or laborious environments. Experience using basic hand tools for simple, entry-level maintenance and labor tasks. Custodial or cleaning experience with the use of cleaning tools, chemicals, and equipment. Ability and willingness to work in a cleanroom environment and follow contamination control procedures. Comfort working at heights and on ladders without fear of elevated work areas. Reliability and consistent work history, demonstrating decent tenure in previous roles. Strong work ethic with a willingness to perform hard, repetitive, and detailed cleaning tasks. Attention to detail and a "super clean" mindset focused on thoroughness and quality. Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions in a structured, process-driven environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience working in cleanrooms or controlled environments. Previous experience in industrial, construction, or manufacturing cleaning roles. Familiarity with final clean or super-clean standards in large facilities. Demonstrated ability to adapt to different work areas and building conditions day to day. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in large industrial and fabrication facilities, including occasional work in cleanroom environments. Typical schedules start at either 5:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m., with a workweek of approximately 40 to 50 hours, depending on the building and daily assignments. Work involves frequent use of ladders and scissor lifts, as well as extended periods of standing, walking, and performing physical cleaning and general labor tasks. The environment can vary from open industrial spaces to controlled cleanrooms, where you must follow strict protocols. Depending on the daily job, you may wear gowning such as a smock, hair net, and static boots; a full cleanroom "bunny suit" is not typically required. Safety procedures and proper use of cleaning tools, hand tools, and equipment are an integral part of the daily work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
