ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis e.g. inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, and repairs or replaces broken parts
- Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment. Major repairs are performed under close management supervision or by outside contractors
- Cleans oil skimmers and fills way oil tanks
- Checks coolant concentrations and fills coolant tanks
- Monitors, maintains or replaces filters on the sand blast cabinets
- Monitors and maintains compressor, air dryer and supporting equipment
- Monitors and maintains evaporator unit, tank and supporting equipment and filter
- Inspect and repair pneumatic distribution systems
- Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building, equipment, maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Assist with the renovation/remodeling of buildings including walls, plaster and drywall, simple electrical systems and paints building structures.
- Replaces or repairs doors, door locks and closets, plumbing fixtures, and other miscellaneous facility needs.
- Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal and yard cleanup as required.
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experienced with hand and power tools with demonstrated mechanical skill background
- Minimum one year experience in manufacturing environment
- Ability to make effective decisions and solve problems
- Appropriate sense of urgency and understanding the critical nature of equipment uptime
- Willingness and ability to participate in process improvement activities
- Apply common sense understanding when carrying out written or oral instructions
- Basic verbal skills required for reporting information to coworkers and management team
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to function in high-pressure situations
- Manual dexterity to operate computer and tools
- Correctable vision and hearing
- Ability to move through approximately 20,000 square foot building
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods in front of production equipment
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to stand and / or move around while performing job duties
- Must be able to bend or reach when performing job duties
