Job Description

Position Title:
Maintenance Technician (Weekend Shift)
Schedule:
4 x10s / Thursday
  • Sunday / 5am
  • 3:30pm First 3 months of training will be Monday

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. You will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as sheet metal fabrication equipment, grid fabrication equipment, weld equipment, air compressors, paint line equipment and forklifts.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Able to set up and operate welders, drill press, grinders, lathes, hand tools and other metal working equipment.
  • Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Able to follow and take direction over the phone while working with equipment manufacturers while troubleshooting equipment.
  • In the near term, develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program.
Longer term, develop and maintain a predictive maintenance program.
Requirements:
  • At least three years' experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
  • Able to operate a forklift.
  • Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate are a plus.
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding is an asset.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to list and transport items weighing up to 25lbs.
  • Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to access materials or equipment at various heights.
  • Potential exposure to loud noises; use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like earplugs may be required.
  • Capability to push or pull heavy objects, such as carts of machinery.
  • Occasional climbing on ladders or platforms. Position Key Attributes
