Maintenance Mechanic Job Description Join a skilled maintenance team as a Maintenance Mechanic supporting the safe and efficient operation of a continuous manufacturing environment. This role includes performing preventive and reactive maintenance on industrial equipment such as conveyors, rollers, and material‑handling systems. You will gain hands‑on mechanical experience, with opportunities for exposure to electrical troubleshooting where applicable. The position also supports equipment breakdown response, system rebuilds, and maintenance activities during installation or modification of production lines. #aerojobsPAtrades26 Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment, including greasing and servicing bearings, conveyors, rollers, and other mechanical components. Carry out reactive maintenance to quickly diagnose and repair equipment issues that impact production. Support line breakdowns and tear-downs as part of ongoing projects, including the removal and replacement of production lines. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems such as motors, engines, hydraulic systems, and conveyors. If applicable, assist with electrical troubleshooting and repairs on plant equipment and systems. Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics as part of maintenance and repair activities. Participate in a company-funded, 8,000-hour Department of Labor Maintenance Mechanic apprenticeship program, completing required training and certifications. Apply knowledge of lubrication, building services, welding and cutting, piping, mechanical power transmission, rigging, electrical equipment systems, and related disciplines in daily work. Work collaboratively with a maintenance team of approximately 58 people and coordinate with outside contractors as needed. Follow all plant safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to the facility's respirator program where applicable. Operate effectively in a high-temperature, loud, dusty, and dirty industrial environment around large furnaces and hot glass processes. Use basic math skills and measurement tools, including tape measures, to perform accurate maintenance and repair work. Communicate clearly with supervisors, engineers, coworkers, and contractors to report issues, share updates, and support problem-solving. Maintain a professional appearance, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and show willingness to learn and complete training courses. Work a rotating 12-hour schedule that includes both day and night shifts to support continuous plant operations. -temperature equipment.
