Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of garage doors and related systems. Your expertise will ensure that our customers' garage doors operate smoothly, safely, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilize a variety of tools and techniques, and deliver exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about craftsmanship and problem-solving. Duties Install new garage doors, including framing, door hanging, and fixture installation using hand tools, power tools, and blueprint schematics Perform repairs on malfunctioning garage doors, including replacing broken springs, cables, rollers, and hardware components Conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation of garage door systems Use welding and fabrication skills to modify or customize door components as needed Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings for accurate installation and repairs Execute heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or heavy door sections or equipment Apply locksmithing techniques for lock replacement or security upgrades on garage doors Utilize electrical experience to troubleshoot and repair motorized garage door openers and wiring issues Assist with construction site projects involving metal stud framing, remodeling, or carpentry related to garage structures Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes while maintaining a clean work environment Qualifications Proven experience with glass installation, metal fabrication, or construction site work preferred Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry techniques Ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately for precise project execution Strong mechanical knowledge related to garage door systems and electrical components Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces safely Experience with fixture installation, trim carpentry, caulking, cabinet installation or locksmithing is a plus Prior experience in remodeling or handyman roles enhances your versatility on the job site Knowledge of electrical systems relevant to motorized garage doors is advantageous Join us if you're eager to bring your technical skills to life in a fast-paced environment where every day presents new challenges!
