Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of equipment and systems across our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, technical expertise in appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, and construction, and demonstrate leadership in troubleshooting and resolving complex maintenance issues. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to operational efficiency and safety while supporting a diverse range of building functions. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems, refrigeration units, appliances, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and repair mechanical failures using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools. Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repairs related to air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, and other building equipment. Lead small-scale construction or renovation projects as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards and specifications. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance. Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing systems to improve efficiency. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime and operational disruptions. Train junior team members or service technicians on equipment repair procedures and safety protocols. Collaborate with vendors or service providers for specialized repairs or system upgrades. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, or mechanical maintenance. Demonstrated ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and mechanical drawings accurately. Knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, refrigerants, compressors, condensers, and related components. Mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair and general maintenance practices. Familiarity with construction processes and safety standards relevant to building maintenance. Leadership qualities with the ability to guide team members effectively during complex repairs or projects. Strong troubleshooting skills combined with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting. Valid certifications or licenses related to HVAC/R (such as EPA certification) are preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
