Job Description
Maintenance Technician II responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining production equipment and facility systems in a heavy manufacturing environment. Requirements 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Experience troubleshooting industrial production equipment Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480V Experience with hydraulic systems Experience with pneumatic systems Experience with conveyors Experience with motors and motor controls Experience with mechanical equipment repair Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings Ability to read and interpret blueprints Ability to read and interpret layout plans Ability to read and interpret technical manuals Experience following written and verbal instructions Availability for overtime as needed Availability to stay late to complete repairs and support production demands Availability for weekend work when required Ability to participate in on-call rotation and respond to maintenance emergencies Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions throughout the shift Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment with exposure to heat, dust, fumes, noise, industrial chemicals, and extreme temperatures Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, SCBAs, gloves, and protective clothing Ability to climb ladders, equipment, and rooftops when necessary Preferred Skills Electrical maintenance experience Hydraulic troubleshooting experience Conveyor maintenance experience Foundry experience Aluminum casting experience Metals manufacturing experience Heavy industrial manufacturing experience Welding and fabrication experience PLC troubleshooting experience Forklift operation experience Scissor lift operation experience Experience operating maintenance support equipment CMMS experience Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance Experience with Lockout/Tagout Experience with Confined Space Entry Experience with machine guarding requirements Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production equipment Maintain furnaces, molding equipment, grinders, conveyors, compressors, dust collection systems, pumps, and related manufacturing equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical systems Diagnose and repair electrical systems up to 480V Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems Diagnose and repair pneumatic systems Diagnose and repair motor controls Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance activities Identify potential equipment failures before breakdowns occur Support equipment reliability and downtime reduction efforts Troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, relays, contactors, and industrial electrical components Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment documentation Install, modify, and upgrade machinery and equipment Perform welding, fabrication, and machine repair work as needed Support equipment installations and maintenance projects Assist with HVAC, plumbing, compressed air systems, building infrastructure, and facility repairs Coordinate with production teams to reduce downtime Work with outside contractors during maintenance projects Maintain work orders, maintenance records, and inventory usage in the CMMS system Train and mentor less experienced maintenance technicians when needed Maintain work area organization Follow safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, machine guarding, and PPE requirements Maintain compliance with safety standards and regulations
