Production Supervisor Position Summary:
The Stair Parts Finisher is responsible for preparing and finishing wood stair components through sanding, surface preparation, inspection, and quality control processes. This role ensures that stair parts meet company quality standards and customer specifications while maintaining production efficiency and workplace safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Rip, Glue, Machine, Sand and prepare wood stair parts according to production specifications.
  • Inspect wood components for defects, imperfections, and quality concerns before and after processing.
  • Operate woodworking equipment such as straight line rip saw, planner, jointer, various shapers and saws safely and effectively.
  • Operate sanding equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Perform detail sanding and surface preparation on stair components, including balusters, handrails, newel posts, risers, starting and landing treads and various styles of treads.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet company standards.
  • Perform touch-up sanding and corrective work as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Track production work orders and complete required documentation.
  • Assist with material handling, packaging, and movement of products when necessary.
  • Communicate quality concerns and production issues to supervisors.
  • Must be able to read tape measurer/ruler and use a caliper Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in woodworking, sanding, manufacturing, cabinetry, furniture production, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and production specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to use hand tools, sanding equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust masks when required.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dust and noise. Preferred Skills
  • Experience operating woodworking machinery and sanding equipment.
  • Knowledge of wood species and grain characteristics.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in a production-driven setting.
Working Conditions Manufacturing and production environment. Exposure to wood dust, noise, and moving machinery. Overtime may be required to meet production schedules. Pay:
$21.00 - $22.00 per hour
