Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Overhead Door Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead doors and related hardware across various commercial and residential sites. Your expertise will ensure that doors operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently, providing our customers with reliable access solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilize a wide range of skills, and grow within a fast-paced construction environment. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair overhead doors, including sectional, rolling steel, and custom designs using hand tools and power tools Perform glass installation for door panels and windows with precision and safety awareness Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to modify or reinforce door components as needed Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installation and repair procedures Handle heavy lifting of doors, hardware, and materials safely on construction sites or customer locations Use carpentry skills such as framing, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and caulking to ensure proper fitment and finish Install fixtures, locks, handles, and other hardware components with attention to detail Requirements Proven experience with construction site work involving door hanging, electrical wiring, or remodeling projects Strong mechanical knowledge of door systems, schematics reading, and fabrication techniques Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and specialized equipment used in door installation Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various environments Experience with glass installation, welding, locksmithing or handyman work is highly desirable Knowledge of electrical systems related to automated doors or security features is a plus Construction or carpentry background including metal stud framing or trim carpentry preferred Join us if you're passionate about delivering quality craftsmanship in a fast-moving environment!
