Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team! Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of production machinery, facility equipment, and building systems at PMI. This role helps minimize unplanned downtime, supports a safe and reliable manufacturing environment, and works closely with production and engineering teams to keep equipment running to spec. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on CNC machines, presses, conveyors, and other production equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures to minimize production downtime. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and work orders; troubleshoot root cause and implement effective repairs. Maintain building systems, including HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, and facility utilities. Complete scheduled PM (preventive maintenance) tasks and document work performed in the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system). Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals to support repairs and installations. Fabricate or modify parts, brackets, and fixtures as needed using shop tools (welding, drill press, lathe, mill). Maintain an organized parts inventory for critical spares; coordinate with the tool crib/storeroom on reorder needs. Support installation, relocation, and start-up of new equipment, including rigging, alignment, and utility hookups. Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and other safety procedures; maintain a clean and safe work area. Partner with production, quality, and engineering to identify recurring equipment issues and support root-cause corrective actions. Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; technical/trade school certificate in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred. 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace or precision manufacturing experience a plus. Working knowledge of electrical (up to 480V), mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) preferred. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment technical manuals. Proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and standard shop equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and in confined spaces as needed; comfortable using ladders and lifts. Available for on-call or rotating shift coverage to support production schedules, including occasional weekends. Due to contractual requirements, candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual). Preferred Qualifications Journeyman electrician license or equivalent industrial electrical certification. Experience maintaining CNC machine tools, EDM equipment, or fastener/machining production lines. Familiarity with CMMS platforms and basic PLC programming or ladder logic troubleshooting. Welding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG). Working Conditions Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing plant floor, with exposure to machine noise, cutting fluids, moving equipment, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection) is required in designated areas. Occasional work at heights, in confined spaces, or in mechanical/electrical rooms is required. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems, HVAC units, refrigeration equipment, and kitchen appliances to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools. Conduct appliance repair and installation, including HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and kitchen equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, and fryers. Operate company vehicles safely for on-site service calls or equipment transportation as needed. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documents to diagnose issues accurately. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used in compliance with operational standards. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from team members or management to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. Skills Extensive experience with appliance repair, HVAC system repair (including air conditioning), refrigeration, and mechanical systems repair. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for various mechanical and electrical systems. Knowledge of HVAC & appliance technology with experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration). Skilled in performing kitchen equipment maintenance and appliance installation with attention to safety standards. Experience with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices across diverse mechanical systems. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients alike. Ability to operate company vehicles safely while adhering to all transportation regulations. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the capacity to guide junior technicians or team members when necessary.
