Job Description

Food manufacturer in New Holland, PA is looking for a 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic. Work on a well tenured maintenance team with great leadership. Virtual interviews available within 24 hours of applying! 2nd shift: 3pm - 11:30pm Mon - Fri (expect 8-10 hours of OT per week)
Pay Range:
$25-32/hr Responsibilities Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to equipment during production to minimize downtime. Maintain and repair production, packaging, and material handling equipment to keep operations running smoothly. Support machine setups and changeovers to meet production requirements. Respond promptly to production trouble calls and resolve equipment issues. Use testing equipment and diagnostic skills to determine the root cause of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems. Instruct production operators on proper machine use to prevent equipment or system damage. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production, packaging, material handling, and mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and pneumatic controls to restore equipment to proper operation. Troubleshoot automation, mechanical, servo, and utility equipment issues and implement improvements where possible. Fabricate and modify older machines to updated versions to improve reliability and performance. Repair facility elements such as floors, walls, and doors as needed. Clean and organize the maintenance shop area to maintain a safe and efficient workspace. Participate actively in continuous improvement processes to enhance equipment reliability and plant performance. Follow standard work methods and adhere to safe work habits and industrial safety procedures, including lockout-tagout. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a food processing or dairy production environment is beneficial. Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems is preferred but not required. Experience with inventory control related to maintenance parts and supplies. Ability to set up, re-tool, and operate complex machinery as needed. Comfort working in a team-oriented environment and collaborating with production staff. Willingness to participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process or equipment enhancements. Why Work Here? You work primarily on 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with regular overtime opportunities on Saturdays and occasional overtime on Sundays. The facility maintains a clean working environment consistent with food production standards. You work around production, packaging, material handling, and mechanical equipment, using a variety of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and testing equipment. The position requires adherence to industrial safety practices, including lockout-tagout procedures, and collaboration in a team-focused maintenance shop. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Holland, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
