Oxford Athletic Club is the most extensive private health and fitness club in the Pittsburgh area and is nationally recognized by the Health and Fitness Association for excellence. The Assistant Facilities Technician will assist in overseeing the maintenance and operation of our facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for our members and staff by performing routine maintenance, basic repairs and general site upkeep. Key duties include carrying out preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, fixing minor plumbing or carpentry issues, and maintaining safe work environment.

Salary, Exempt Essential Job Duties:
Assist the Facilities Manager in daily operations and maintenance activities. Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and cleanliness issues. Inspect and service HVAC units, change light bulbs, patch drywall and paint interior/exterior surfaces. Assist with minor plubming, electrical and carpentry work; respond quickly to equipment or facility failures. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for repairs and maintenance projects. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and club policies, following OSHA and local health guidelines. Handle seasonal tasks including snow removal, salting and basic landscaping, plus light custodial work as assigned. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations. Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs. Support special projects and renovations as directed by management.
Skills:
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic mechanical aptitude; safe use of hand and power tools; clear written and verbal communication
Qualifications:
Previous experience in facilities management or a related field preferred. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance practices. Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed. Certification in facility management or related areas is a plus. Must get Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and Pesticide certification within first year of hire.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 0-3 years of hands-on building maintenance or general trade experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Vocational training or coursework in electrical, plumbing, HVAC or carpentry
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, climb ladders, and lift up to 50-75 pounds

Salary Grade/Level:
Full-time, $41,000-$56,000 range depending on education, experience and certifications
