Job Description

Summary:
The primary function of a Maintenance Technician is to diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic issues and take necessary steps to correct them in a safe and timely manner. Technicians are also responsible for the completion of preventative maintenance on all production equipment.

Essential Functions:
  • Works well with others, fostering a team atmosphere.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area at all times.
  • Comply with all GMP requirements.
  • Capable of dismantling equipment, removing defective parts and reassembling without supervision.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs when necessary.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Follow complex procedures, do preventative maintenance and find hidden defects and correct, also update equipment.
  • Using electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and blueprints to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, or install equipment or systems.
  • Use the electronic work order system to plan, execute, and record corrective actions with as much detail as possible.
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and record root causes of failure. Identify recurring issues and document fixes for future reference.
  • Perform mathematical calculations that assist in fabrication and evaluation of performance of equipment.
  • May be required to train to work around energized, moving, or rotating production equipment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Able to read mechanical schematics and blueprints; follow directions from manuals.
  • Able to interpret work orders and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Be willing to make suggestions on improvements on replacement substitutes.
  • Basic welding knowledge and welding skills.
  • Be proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools and manual repair equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use advanced test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve problems with complex equipment and solutions.
  • Able to follow complex procedures, perform preventative maintenance tasks and look for hard-to-find defects or potential issues and correct them as needed.
  • Able to read complex drawings and troubleshoot independently.
  • Able to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and replace and update parts to resolve recurring causes.
  • Able to read complex pneumatic and air logic drawings and troubleshoot independently.
  • Able to read and troubleshoot hydraulic circuits and systems and replace parts without assistance.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read and record written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be willing and able to maintain open, effective communication with team members as well as departmental and plant leadership.
  • Must adhere/comply with all Company policies, procedures and practices.
Education:
  • High School or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a formal technical training program or a minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial maintenance role.
  • Mechanical, plumbing, basic electrical, and millwright skills.
  • Experience with high speed packaging equipment, bakery equipment, and basic PLC knowledge a plus.

$26.00 - $36.56 per hour
