Machine Maintenance Technician Thompson/Center Arms & Green Mountain Barrel Company Location:
Hybrid role between Thompson/Center Arms (Farmington, NH) and Green Mountain Barrel Company (Conway, NH)
Employment Type:
Full-Time Position Overview Thompson/Center Arms and Green Mountain Barrel Company are seeking a highly motivated Machine Maintenance Technician to support operations across both of our New Hampshire manufacturing facilities. This hybrid role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing a wide range of advanced manufacturing equipment used in precision firearms and barrel production. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working with CNC machinery and industrial systems, and a proactive mindset focused on maximizing uptime, efficiency, and production reliability. This is a critical hands-on role supporting two iconic American manufacturing brands committed to craftsmanship, precision, and innovation. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines, barrel drilling systems, precision machining centers, welders, compressors, hydraulic systems, and supporting manufacturing equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with automation-related maintenance Maintain and repair gun drilling, deep-hole drilling, chambering, fluting, and barrel finishing machinery Conduct emergency repairs and respond quickly to production line equipment failures Inspect equipment and identify wear patterns, risks, and opportunities for preventative intervention Install, align, calibrate, and commission new production equipment Assist with facility maintenance including compressed air systems, HVAC support, lighting, conveyors, and plant utilities Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and preventative maintenance schedules Collaborate with production, engineering, and operations teams to improve machine reliability and throughput Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, uptime, and manufacturing optimization Ensure compliance with all safety, OSHA, and company operating standards
Qualifications Required:
3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Experience with CNC machinery maintenance and repair Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, bearings, drives, and industrial electrical systems Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and machine documentation Proficiency using diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to travel regularly between Farmington and Conway facilities Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in an active manufacturing environment
Preferred:
