Maintenance Technician

Direct Hire Maintenance Technician Needed 1st and 2nd shift available $30-35hr (BOE) Job Description This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of foundry machinery and support systems. You will work hands-on with electrical and mechanical components, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime in a high-temperature production environment. Responsibilities Perform hands-on maintenance and repair on foundry machinery, including belt grinders, cut-off saws, vertical saws, casting machines, and related equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics, meters, and test equipment to identify root causes and implement effective repairs. Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems to ensure reliable machine performance and process stability. Conduct PLC troubleshooting and work with PLC controls, including Siemens systems, to resolve control and automation issues. Inspect, maintain, and replace electrical components such as glow bars and temperature-related devices including thermocouples and similar components. Execute preventive maintenance tasks on all assigned machinery to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life. Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical documentation to guide repairs and modifications. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate equipment history and support continuous improvement. Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work, support safe operations, and minimize equipment-related interruptions. Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on energized equipment and in hot foundry conditions. Essential Skills Strong electrical background with proven experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance. Hands-on experience with mechanical systems and components in a production environment. Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including reading and interpreting electrical schematics. Experience with PLC troubleshooting and PLC control systems, including Siemens platforms. Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, including troubleshooting and repair of these systems. Ability to perform preventive maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery. Comfort working in hot environments such as foundries or heavy industrial facilities. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues under time constraints. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
