About the Role AESC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced manufacturing equipment at the Blythewood Repack facility. This is a hands-on technical role with strong growth potential; early hires will support new equipment installation and become technical trainers for future team members. What You Will Do Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production and facility equipment, including conveyors, robotics, and material handling systems. Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, robotics, electrical, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to minimize equipment downtime. Program, modify, and maintain PLC systems including backup and version control of PLC logic. Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and production lines. Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implements corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate documentation using the CMMS work order system, including labor hours, parts usage, and equipment history. Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers on parts procurement and lead times. Read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints to guide repair and installation work. Respond to unplanned equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs to minimize impact to production. Perform routine inspections and calibrations of sensors, safety devices, and control systems. Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to identify equipment improvement opportunities. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including equipment reliability projects and downtime reduction efforts. Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other required safety procedures during all maintenance activities. Train and mentor less experienced team members on equipment best practices, troubleshooting techniques, and safety protocols. Participate in on-call or after-hours support rotation as needed to support production schedules. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards. Assist with equipment upgrades, retrofits, and end-of-life replacements. Support audits and inspections related to safety, quality, and environmental compliance. Complete other duties as assigned. What You Need High school diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred. 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including 2+ years of hands-on PLC experience. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing PLCs (Omron and/or Siemens preferred), robotics, and electrical control systems. Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including component-level troubleshooting and repair. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints. Familiarity with CMMS work order systems for tracking maintenance activities and equipment history. Understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash, and other electrical safety practices. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team. Ability to work rotating or multiple shifts, including occasional weekends or overtime as production needs require. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis on equipment failures.
Pay:
$31.00 - $33.50 per hour
