LOCATION
Sumter, SC Overview:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting across building systems and equipment. This role supports safe, efficient facility operations by addressing preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and completing repairs related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and general building systems. The technician works independently on routine tasks and assists with more complex projects as needed. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime Conduct routine inspections of buildings, systems, and grounds to identify maintenance needs Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner using CMMS or other tracking systems Install, maintain, and repair equipment such as pumps, motors, conveyors, lighting, and controls Support basic electrical work (e.g., replacing components, troubleshooting circuits under supervision) Perform general facility repairs including drywall, painting, carpentry, and minor construction tasks Assist with vendor coordination and oversee contractor work when required Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of parts and supplies Support emergency response efforts and be available for on-call rotation if required Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or GED required 3-5 years of facilities maintenance or industrial maintenance experience Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and technical documents Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management systems Preferred Qualifications Technical certification (HVAC, electrical, or related field) EPA Certification (for HVAC work) Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or commercial facility environments
