•Apply at: https://selfservice.greenvillecounty.org/mss/employmentopportunities/ Full Time Position with Complete Benefit Package Duties include (but are not limited to): Perform restroom maintenance. Maintain recreation parks and athletic fields as assigned: watering playing fields/other turf, mowing and aerating playing fields/other turf, installing landscape materials and sod, trimming trees and shrubbery, applying fertilizers and herbicides, installing and repairing fencing and picnic tables, installing and maintaining signage, removing debris and trash. Prepare fields and facilities for athletic and other recreation events. Inspect playing fields, grounds and facilities for security and safety, and taking appropriate steps to ensure the safety of all staff and citizens and the protection of Department property. May direct activities of assigned maintenance crew members. May assist with event/program/tournament planning and/or execution. Transport equipment and other items to and from recreation sites as directed. Assist in maintaining inventory of necessary supplies, materials and equipment. Maintain and perform minor repairs of department equipment as needed. Perform basic general building maintenance work as necessary. May install and maintain irrigation equipment. Receive and respond to inquiries, requests for assistance, concerns and complaints in areas of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

Related experience preferred Requires high school diploma, GED or specialized vocational training. Must possess a valid state driver's license. Must know how to operate mower, tractor, string trimmer, blower, chain saw, and other basic maintenance-related equipment and tools. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Ability to work weekends as needed. Requires medium-to-heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing or raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
