Job Description

The Multi-craft Maintenance position is responsible to repair, troubleshoot, install, maintain, dismantle, calibrate and overhaul machinery as required. Uses plans and blueprints to complete installations, perform overhauls and implement improvement measures using both hand and power tools. Works according to schedule within a fast-paced automotive environment. Preventative maintenance inspections will be performed to ensure company standards of machine performance.
  • Complete the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of plant facilities and equipment as required, including working with external contractors.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of production equipment to ensure the most efficient flow of production with the least possible downtime.
  • Ensures all electrical parts, wiring and equipment conform to electrical code requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Support maintenance of spare parts list.
  • Work according to schedule made by production department and Maintenance Lead Hand and ensure scheduler is aware when work assignments cannot be completed as planned.
  • Maintain detailed records of labour hours of unscheduled repairs and improvements and technical repairs when creating work orders.
  • Ensures supervisor is advised when assignments cannot be completed as planned.
  • Comply with all company policies when required.
  • Ensure that work is completed in accordance with relevant Electrical Codes and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Execute the preventative maintenance program.
  • Addition duties as required.
  • Able to communicate clearly in English (both verbal and written).
  • Assertive and self-motivated, able to analyze and prioritize tasks.
  • Receptive to new ideas, change, and continual improvement. Capable of moving ideas into actions.
  • Creative problem solving skills are essential.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques of equipment problems.
  • General knowledge of blueprint reading.
  • Must own Toolbox/Tools to carry out tasks.
  • Not required - Minimum 1-2 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Overhead crane, towmotor, aerial lifts and measuring devices (such as: micro meter, height indicator, etc.) experience is an asset. Must possess a valid Drivers license Not Required - A diploma certificate for each of the following courses- Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electrical and Basic PLC'S.
  • Clean and very organized shop floor environment working toward 5S expertise.
  • Works under general supervision of Supervisor or Designee.
  • Wears all PPE including company provided uniforms.
  • Required to carry out routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, lifting, packing, stacking and bending.
  • Regularly exposed to noise, temperature change and on occasion lubricants.
  • Able to work overtime as required.
