Job Description

General Position Description:
The Facilities Maintenance worker is responsible for performing general facilities and yard maintenance repairs at designated facilities, coordinating the disposal of hazardous materials (batteries, drums, oil), tracking fluid inventory and coordinating vendor repairs to the facility. Reviews work orders with Supervisor to determine priorities and updates work order log as work is completed. Conduct daily walk through of general facilities and grounds to evaluate the need for repair or general upkeep. Use various hand and power tools and operate all types of machinery.
Description of essential job functions:
Maintain all facilities and facilities service systems in support of 24•7 operation of manufacturing plant Perform multi-craft tasks associated with facilities maintenance. Preventive maintenance and maintenance duties such as filtration system changes, greasing and oiling of motors, gears, boiler, compressed air, water and pits, silos, doors and other auxiliary equipment. Inspect and adjust belts and pulleys. Replace ballast in light fixtures, replace bearings and perform other building, system and equipment repairs. Handle preventive maintenance and equipment downtime situations and procedures Identify the root cause of problems and countermeasures to prevent recurrence. Perform repairs to and PM's on pumps, conveying systems, piping, etc. Perform weekly/monthly inspections on fire protection/sprinkler system and cranes and hoist. Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. Assist in keeping facilities, tools, and equipment in good order and clean. Perform other duties as directed by Maintenance Supervisor. Preferred qualifications for this position : High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training in equipment mechanical/electrical maintenance along with building infrastructure to include plumbing. wiring, lighting etc. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Employee must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and have the ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization. The employee will participate in the development and writing of PM's and work procedures.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training in equipment mechanical/electrical maintenance along with building infrastructure to include plumbing. wiring, lighting etc.
