Maintenance Technician -
Job Description Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician helps ensure the church campus remains safe, functional, well-maintained, and welcoming for members, guests, staff, and ministry activities. This position is responsible for routine and preventative maintenance, minor repairs, general upkeep of church facilities and grounds, and addressing maintenance needs as they arise.
Reports To:
Director of Operations Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections of church buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
  • Perform general building maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and basic electrical maintenance and light fixture replacement.
  • Maintain HVAC, lighting, and other building systems; work with outside contractors when necessary.
  • Repair doors, windows, locks, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from the Operations Director.
  • Assist with seasonal maintenance, including leaf removal, ice or snow removal (if applicable), and others.
  • Assist with room setup and teardown for worship services, ministry activities, weddings, funerals, and special events when needed.
  • Monitor maintenance inventory and communicate supply needs to the Operations Director.
  • Ensure maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies are organized and in good working order.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with applicable building codes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Director. Qualifications & Required Skills Spiritual Qualifications
  • Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a life marked by spiritual maturity, humility, and integrity.
  • Takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming church campus.
  • Affirms the Statement of Faith, Constitution, Bylaws, mission, and values of TBC. Education & Experience
  • Must successfully complete the church's background screening process.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in general building maintenance or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry.
  • Ability to operate lawn care equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and reaching.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Work Schedule
  • Flexible schedule of approximately 15 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours as needed depending on maintenance needs, church activities, and special events.
  • Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required to support worship services and church events.
  • On-call availability for emergency maintenance issues may be required.
Compensation $18 - $20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
