Facilities Maintenance Advocate 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Overview Abigail's Arms Cooke County Family Crisis Center is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to support our vision to empower families to live a life free from violence. This position is vital to keeping our facilities safe and functional.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the coordination of all physical plant requirements relating to the Operations, Facility Maintenance and Security of Abigail's Arms Cooke County Family Crisis Center. The Facility Maintenance Advocate will also be responsible for maintaining a working relationship with community partners. This position will be responsible for donation and goods pick up from community partners.Job Duties:
- Responsible for facility management and preventive maintenance at all facilities. This includes security, facilitating building repairs, and purchase requests. This position works closely with the Shelter Manager to ensure the shelter is maintained at the highest required standards and all repairs are done in a timely fashion.
- Ensure regular inspection of HV/AC, filter changes, fire alarms and boiler maintenance are completed as scheduled, and all inspection documentation is readily available.
- Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with representatives from the city and community partners.
- Assess facility conditions and take appropriate responsive and/or planning action. Tour facilities frequently to assess the quality and feel of living environments, inside and around the center.
- Work with management to implement an effective communications plan and inventory system that assures staff, residents, and other constituents are informed of maintenance work, housekeeping, projects, and related efforts that are performed in and around all facilities. Includes meeting with Shelter Manager and other staff.
- Work closely with Director of Staff and Volunteer Relations to establish and sustain effective and positive working relationships with operation volunteers who perform work in and around the building.
- Handle monthly commodity orders, pick-ups, renewals, reporting, audits, inventory, and inspection.
- Ensure that code inspections are passing, and any follow-up needed is completed on a timely basis.
- Develop and maintain standards for working with hazardous waste.
- Maintain shelter passenger vehicles following the weekly vehicle inspection checklist.
- Mow and trim areas not maintained by the contracted mowing service.
- Prepare buildings and grounds prior to adverse weather conditions.
- Adhere to weekly check in with Director of Operations and Shelter Manager
- Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety and cleanliness to include but not limited to sanitation spraying of both buildings as requested, insect control, replenishment of bathroom and kitchen supplies, trash bags etc.
- Maintain security of the facilities with key control management and necessary audits to identify risks.
- Perform all duties as assigned to meet agency goals and objectives.
- Participate in all required meetings on monthly, weekly, or daily basis
Qualifications:
Education/Skills/Experience:
- Technical education a plus.
- Two plus years in facility maintenance or property maintenance.
- Must possess basic proficiency in MS Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook etc. and be willing to utilize paperless applications to streamline processes.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, volunteers and staff.
General knowledge of the following:
plumbing; fire extinguishers, door locks, smoke alarms, standard home electrical appliances, filter changes, minor repairs, overall maintenance, etc. Pay is dependent on skills and experience.Job Type:
