Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct repairs on electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation. Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and ohmmeters to diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently. Carry out carpentry tasks such as maintenance painting, drywall repairs, door adjustments, and other building interior maintenance activities. Weld metal components or structures as needed to restore or enhance facility infrastructure. Maintain facilities equipment including motors, pumps, valves, wiring, switches, and HVAC systems. Assist with maintenance painting projects to improve the appearance and condition of interior spaces. Repair or replace electrical wiring and fixtures while adhering to safety standards; troubleshoot electrical issues with electrical work experience. Support plumbing system maintenance including pipe repairs, fixture replacements, and leak detection. Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities; read schematics accurately for complex repairs. Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal requests promptly and professionally while maintaining a positive attitude. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and repair operations (MRO). Proficiency in electrical work including troubleshooting electrical equipment using tools like ohmmeters; familiarity with electrical schematics is essential. Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair; capable of diagnosing issues quickly and effectively. Knowledge of HVAC systems including repair techniques for heating and cooling units; experience with HVAC system repair is highly desirable. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; experience with welding is a plus. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or schematics related to building automation is advantageous. Excellent communication skills in English; able to read technical manuals and schematics clearly. Basic carpentry skills including painting, drywall repair, door adjustments, and interior finishing work. Experience working with maintenance painting techniques for residential or commercial spaces. Ability to interpret technical diagrams (schematics) for complex repairs or installations. Knowledge of building interior maintenance standards along with general facilities equipment maintenance practices. Leadership qualities to assist in team tasks or guide junior staff when necessary.
