Building Maintenance Technician - JLL What this job involves: As a Building Maintenance Technician at JLL, you'll be the hands-on expert ensuring our client facilities operate smoothly and safely every day. This essential role combines technical expertise with customer service excellence, as you maintain, repair, and inspect critical building systems that keep occupants comfortable and operations running seamlessly. You'll work independently while being part of a collaborative facilities team, directly contributing to JLL's reputation for operational excellence and client satisfaction. If you're a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in solving problems, preventing issues before they occur, and delivering exceptional service, this opportunity offers meaningful work where your technical abilities make a tangible difference in people's daily work environment. What your day-to-day will look like: Execute preventive maintenance schedules on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime Respond promptly to facility repair requests, troubleshooting issues and performing hands-on repairs to restore building systems and equipment functionality Conduct regular facility inspections and assessments, documenting conditions and identifying potential concerns that could impact occupant comfort or operational efficiency Update work orders in real-time using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/WebTMA), ensuring accurate tracking and transparent communication with clients and management Replace lighting fixtures, ballasts, and bulbs throughout facilities while maintaining proper safety protocols Collaborate with facility management and clients to escalate complex issues promptly, providing clear communication about maintenance needs and resolution timelines Maintain safe, organized work areas and comply with all safety procedures, hazardous materials protocols, and housekeeping standards to protect yourself, colleagues, and building occupants
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent certification Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, encompassing general facility repairs, basic plumbing systems, and basic electrical work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), particularly WebTMA or similar platforms Basic knowledge of HVAC systems operation and troubleshooting that can be expanded through on-the-job training Familiarity with proper hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal procedures Trade certifications or technical coursework in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems Experience conducting facility inspections or due diligence assessments for commercial properties Demonstrated ability to safely lift materials and equipment up to 50 lbs regularly as part of standard maintenance duties Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with clients, tenants, and team members Completion of all required safety training programs and commitment to ongoing safety compliance Capability to work effectively in challenging environmental conditions including extreme temperatures (hot and cold) This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
