A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
University Square Apartments, Levelland, Texas Position Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the Community Director, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring proper operation, upkeep, and repair of University Square Apartments. This includes performing general maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining both the interior and exterior of the property.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the property. Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical and plumbing issues. Troubleshoot and repair water heaters, outlets, switches, light fixtures, dishwashers, stoves, and ovens. Conduct HVAC preventative maintenance and minor repairs. Perform painting, drywall repair, and other cosmetic maintenance as needed. Maintain groundskeeping, swimming pool, sprinkler system, and exterior upkeep of the property. Safely use ladders, stairs, and equipment to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas. Lift up to 50 lbs. and perform overhead work as required. Stand for extended periods and walk long distances as part of routine duties. Follow directions from the Community Director and perform additional duties as assigned. Maintain courteous, professional, and helpful interactions with residents. Always maintain a clean and professional personal appearance. Responsible for after-hour maintenance calls. Responsible for inventory control and utilization of maintenance materials.
Qualifications:
Valid driver's license. Ability to safely perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and prolonged standing. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Professional demeanor and good communication skills. Preferred (but not required): Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems. Knowledge of HVAC systems.
Work Environment:
Physical tasks may involve indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Pay:
From $20.00 per hour
