The Maintenance Technician, under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Hospital buildings, grounds, and equipment. This position also handles preventative maintenance and repairs for a wide range of hospital equipment and utility systems, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, light construction, painting, and grounds keeping.

This position must integrate company values into daily practice.

Essential Functions:

Performs routine facility maintenance, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and painting. Performs regularly scheduled safety checks, inspections, and walk-throughs. Performs groundskeeping duties. Responds to and completes work orders and/or projects, records completion of work order and any changes in work performed. Identifies and communicates potential issues related to services and equipment to the Director of Facilities in a timely manner. In coordination with Director of Facilities, follows building preventative maintenance programs and procedures. Participates in the development of departmental safety procedures. Maintains records for facility compliance with all regulatory agencies providing oversight including local, state, and federal agencies relating to facility maintenance systems. May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards. Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule. Completes required trainings, as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.

Minimum Job Requirements Minimum Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent OR 2 years direct experience required. Previous experience in the areas of preventative maintenance, equipment and systems repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or construction required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or

Documentation:

Licensure in a field of specialty, such as electrical, plumbing or HVAC, preferred. Must maintain acceptable driving record, current drivers license, and insurability.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of safety codes and regulations Must be able to make mathematical calculations and follow detailed written and oral instructions.
