Job Description

Willow Bend Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable, skilled, and service-minded Maintenance Technician to help keep our facility safe, comfortable, and well maintained for our residents, employees, and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, can handle a variety of maintenance needs, and understands that a well-maintained environment directly impacts the quality of life of our residents. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, mechanical equipment, and general facility upkeep. Inspect the building, equipment, and grounds for needed repairs or potential safety concerns. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment malfunctions. Replace light bulbs, repair fixtures, and maintain resident rooms and common areas. Perform basic preventive maintenance on heating and cooling equipment according to established procedures. Maintain facility grounds, parking areas, driveways, sidewalks, windows, and screens. Coordinate maintenance work with nursing and other departments when working in resident-care areas. Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and maintenance work areas in a safe and organized condition. Follow infection-control procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Protect resident privacy, confidentiality, personal belongings, and property rights. Assist with emergency preparation and resident evacuation when necessary. Complete unscheduled maintenance assignments and other duties as directed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. General knowledge of building maintenance and repair. Experience with plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, HVAC, painting, or mechanical systems is helpful. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and respond appropriately to urgent maintenance needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers. Dependable, flexible, and committed to maintaining a safe environment. Previous maintenance experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, assisted living, or commercial setting is preferred but not required. Physical and Scheduling Requirements Ability to move throughout the facility for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including cramped spaces and varying weather conditions. May be required to work occasional weekends, holidays, or extended hours. Must be available for emergency call-back situations when scheduled or necessary. We are looking for someone who will take ownership of the facility's condition, respond with urgency, and treat every resident's room as their home.
