Maintenance Technician 3rd shift $32 - $36 + $1.50 shift differential Job Description The Maintenance Technician supports safe and efficient wire-manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment such as acoumeters, payoffs, take-ups, and extrusion lines. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility systems to minimize downtime and maintain product quality. The position requires 3-5 years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment while supporting continuous improvement efforts. Responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment including acoumeters, payoffs, take-ups, and extrusion lines to ensure reliable and efficient operation. Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility systems to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life. Diagnose and resolve electrical issues involving 3-phase power, motors, and 480V systems using schematics and blueprints. Conduct basic PLC troubleshooting, including identifying faults and using diagnostic tools, without performing programming or editing. Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and maintain accurate equipment records. Interpret and work from electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints to perform installations, repairs, and adjustments. Install, align, and commission mechanical and electrical components, including motors, drives, and related production equipment. Perform mechanical repairs, including component replacement, alignment, and adjustments on industrial machinery. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure proper operation of production equipment. Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as needed to support equipment maintenance and repair. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions to restore production. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes. Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to coordinate repairs and minimize disruption to manufacturing operations. Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working with electrical, mechanical, and industrial systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored and used properly. Essential Skills 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude for working with complex production equipment. Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems, including 3-phase power, motors, and 480V circuits. Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Basic PLC troubleshooting skills, including fault finding and diagnostics, without the need for programming or editing. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints. Hands-on experience with industrial maintenance tasks such as repair, installation, and service of production equipment. Familiarity with CMMS systems and ability to use them to document and track maintenance work. Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. Effective troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues. Capability to perform welding and basic fabrication as part of maintenance activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in an industrial manufacturing plant environment. Experience in maintaining extrusion lines or similar continuous production equipment. Experience with installation and commissioning of industrial equipment and systems. Exposure to continuous improvement practices related to maintenance and equipment reliability. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production and engineering.
