This energetic position involves performing comprehensive floor care tasks to ensure surfaces are clean, polished, and well-maintained. As a key contributor to our environmental services team, you will utilize your skills in cleaning, floor refinishing, and equipment operation to deliver exceptional results that enhance the overall appearance and safety of our clients' spaces. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of various floor surfaces including tile, vinyl, carpet, and hardwood using appropriate cleaning equipment and techniques. Conduct floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to restore shine and extend the life of flooring materials. Handle and apply floor cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to environmental and safety guidelines. Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, polishers, extractors, and carpet cleaners efficiently and responsibly. Execute heavy lifting tasks involving equipment or supplies to support ongoing maintenance activities. Document completed tasks accurately and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to supervisors. Experience Prior floor technician experience in commercial or institutional settings is highly preferred. Proven ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and effectively while following safety protocols. Experience operating various floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, waxers, and carpet extractors. Familiarity with floor refinishing techniques including waxing, buffing, and sealing surfaces. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique. Knowledge of environmental services standards related to cleanliness, safety, and sustainability practices.
