Facilities Support Maintenance

About us GodChasers Community Church is a Christian Church in San Antonio, TX. Our goal is to hire a Facilities Support Maintenance person who serves the church by completing custodial tasks and ensuring that maintenance issues and facilities upkeep are executed. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of our facilities as well as the general upkeep of the building. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, possess a thorough understanding of organization and maintenance techniques, and comfortably coordinate with outside vendors for specialized building repairs.

Duties include:

Keeping the church in proper order (in appearance, cleanliness, and maintenance) Perform routine maintenance around the building, such as fixing structural damage including door or wall repairs, painting, replacing light fixtures, repairing carpet, replacing hand sanitizer receptacles, emptying trash, replacing broken fixtures, replacing soap dispensers, etc. Facilitating work orders for repairs, inspections, installations and ordering supplies Weekly Cleaning and Organizing of Storage Areas Taking items to storage and picking up items from the hardware store. Maintaining grounds, parking lots, and walkways Installing and maintaining fire extinguishers, and other building safety devices Perform general maintenance on equipment such as vacuum cleaners, etc. Perform general maintenance on refrigerators, such as cleaning and sanitizing. Set up and breakdown for events in multi-purpose rooms and areas Make sure that rooms are properly equipped and stocked Manage Thursday prep and logistics for the

Monthly Food Pantry:

Drive a U-Haul to pick up food items, supervise and direct day laborers from a staffing agency to unload and assemble food bags, and fully prep the distribution area. Contact external vendors (e.g., plumbers, specialty repair technicians) to obtain project quotes and coordinate building maintenance.

Skills:

Ability to read and understand instructions in the English language to follow job duties accurately. Able to manage, prioritize, and execute daily task lists independently. Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively direct day laborers and collaborate across church departments.

Requirements:

Must be able to lift 50 pounds Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (required for driving a rental U-Haul/picking up supplies).
