Summary:
We're looking for a motivated and dependable Junior Facilities Technician to join our Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who recently graduated from a trade or technical school and is eager to begin a career in facilities maintenance. This position focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning facility while learning preventive maintenance and basic building systems. You'll work alongside experienced technicians who will provide hands-on training and mentorship as you develop your skills. We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Assist with the daily maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including offices, production areas, warehouses, and common spaces. Perform routine preventive maintenance on facility equipment and building systems. Help with basic repairs involving lighting, plumbing, doors, windows, walls, flooring, and other general building maintenance. Operate a ride-on or walk-behind floor scrubber to maintain clean and safe production and warehouse floors. Perform general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, organizing maintenance storage areas, and keeping workspaces clean and orderly. Support HVAC, compressed air, electrical, and other facility systems under the direction of senior technicians. Complete assigned work orders and document maintenance activities using the company's maintenance management system. Assist with facility improvement projects, equipment moves, furniture assembly, painting, and workspace setup. Respond promptly to routine facility maintenance requests. Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and properly stocked. Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Trade school or technical school education in Industrial Maintenance, Building Maintenance, HVAC, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Comfortable using basic hand and power tools. Positive attitude, dependable, and self-motivated. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and occasionally on rooftops when needed. Preferred Internship, shop, or hands-on experience through school or personal projects. Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general building maintenance. Experience operating floor cleaning equipment. Forklift or aerial lift experience or willingness to become certified. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday. Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Work both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures. Safely operate facility equipment and powered cleaning equipment.
