Job Description
Central Counties Services is seeking an individual who is motivated to learn and expand on any current maintenance skills they may have to serve as a Maintenance Specialist in support of facility operations. The successful candidate will work within a team setting that will provide training and support while learning the position. When ready, the selected candidate will be able to perform work independently as job demands arise. What your day may look like: You may be performing preventative maintenance, building inspections, trouble shooting and repair of plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems. Performs highly complex (senior-level) general facility and building maintenance and repair work. Work involves building repair, renovation, restoration, and alteration for designated trade skills. Works under limited supervision and exercises considerable initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates with internal and external customers on Center facility maintenance and repair projects to ensure minimal impact on daily service delivery and efficient use of resources. Performs maintenance, repair, and inspection work on electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and mechanical equipment and systems in an efficient, safe, and timely manner. Routinely inspects structures, evaluates work to be performed, and determines effective methods for completing assigned maintenance activities. Uses standard problem solving strategies and comprehensive assessment processes to achieve positive outcomes. Maintains a proactive approach to maintenance processes and informs the Maintenance Supervisor of all needed or completed maintenance issues. Inspects equipment, machinery, systems, building accessories, and appliances to ensure proper maintenance and repair, maximize Center resources, and maintain staff safety. Assesses project and process needs related to materials and equipment, calculates material needs, and informs the Maintenance Supervisor of parts and supplies required to complete work orders. Assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains furniture systems. Moves Center furniture associated with approved staff or programmatic moves. Utilizes the Maintenance Care System effectively and accurately to respond to, document, and track maintenance requests and required information associated with completion of projects and tasks. Safely operates maintenance tools, machinery, motorized vehicles, and equipment related to assigned maintenance activities. Assists the Fleet Manager with vehicle maintenance as assigned. Performs assigned work with competence, accountability, and independence using established maintenance methods and procedures. Participates in assigned on-call coverage for after-hours and weekend maintenance needs, responding appropriately within established timeframes. Complies with all Center safety procedures and utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required. Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the 8-5 work day or agreed upon hours 100% of the time, to ensure consistency and completeness of program's processes. Professional Development - Successfully complete training required to maintain skill competency and cross training to ensure consistency across program procedures. Complete continuing education as required by professional standards and the Center. Frequent daily travel between Center facilities within the catchment area is required. Performs related work as assigned.GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Education Experience in general facility and building maintenance and repair work required. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent required. Vocational training in a designated trade is preferred. Knowledge of general building maintenance and repair procedures, including basic electrical, plumbing, appliance, drywall, flooring, and fixture repairs. Ability to safely troubleshoot maintenance issues and utilize standard maintenance tools and equipment, including multimeters and volt meters. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of construction, repair, maintenance, and operation of buildings, equipment, building materials, and applicable fire and safety regulations. Ability to safely and effectively utilize tools, equipment, and maintenance procedures to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment. Ability to understand and utilize technical drawings and diagrams; apply appropriate maintenance methods and techniques; prioritize and organize work activities; and communicate and coordinate effectively with staff, contractors, and vendors. Skill in identifying maintenance issues, exercising sound judgment, solving problems, and completing assigned work efficiently and accurately. Ability to proficiently utilize computer programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and maintenance work order systems. Central Counties Services incorporates principles of trauma-informed care, including cultural sensitivity, in all areas of service delivery. Relationship Skills Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with supervisors, individuals served, co-workers, contractors, vendors, and the public while maintaining professionalism, tact, and good judgment. Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and carry out assignments with minimal supervision. Additional Requirements Must have and maintain a valid drivers' license with an acceptable driving record.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Respond appropriately to challenging or unpredictable situations, including safely de-escalating and managing interactions with individuals who may exhibit verbally or physically escalated behavior, in accordance with training and Center policies. Maintain sufficient mental and emotional health to meet the inherent stressors of the position.
