Job Description:
Join a great team in a fun, flexible work environment! We're looking for a dependable, self-motivated, and experienced Maintenance Technician to help maintain our student housing properties near Utah Tech University. This full-time position is ideal for someone with a background in maintenance or handyman work. The right candidate will be able to work independently, troubleshoot common issues, and complete all types of repairs safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, general repairs, and assisting with unit turns and inspections. Responsibilities include:
Troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues Diagnose and repair appliance problems (fridge, oven, washer/dryer) Replace light fixtures, ceiling fans, switches, and outlets Repair or replace toilets, faucets, garbage disposals, and aerators Cut, glue, or solder PVC and copper pipes as needed Patch drywall and perform paint touch-ups Replace interior doors, trim, hardware, and toilet seats Install window blinds, curtain rods, and light-duty fixtures Unclog drains and perform basic plumbing maintenance Use hand and power tools safely and effectively Create punch lists and assist with unit turns Assist with move-in/move-out inspections Change air filters and smoke detector batteries Perform basic landscaping, exterior cleaning, and trash removal Follow maintenance checklists and report major issues to senior techs
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in property maintenance, handyman work, or a related field Proficient in basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repair Able to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs independently Skilled with hand and power tools, and comfortable working with your hands Owns a reliable truck and a standard set of tools Physically capable of lifting heavy items, climbing ladders, and performing manual labor Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage time effectively Professional, team-oriented, and comfortable communicating with tenants and coworkers Familiarity with residential or student housing maintenance is a plus Willing to follow safety procedures and company guidelines
