Chitra is seeking an experienced 915A Warrant Officer Automotive Maintenance Technician to serve as a Wheeled Vehicles/Recovery Maintenance Instructor supporting U.S. Army maintenance training at Fort Lee, Virginia/ Fort Walker, VA. The instructor will provide classroom, laboratory, simulator, and hands-on field instruction in wheeled vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and recovery operations. Training may include Professional Military Education and MOS-specific technical and tactical instruction at the Warrant Officer, Advanced Leader Course (ALC), and Senior Leader Course (SLC) levels, as applicable. This position requires extensive Army maintenance experience, including expertise with wheeled, tracked, Stryker, and recovery platforms; vehicle electrical and electronic systems; diagnostics; and H8/H9 recovery operations. The instructor must be capable of independently delivering technically demanding instruction and conducting rigorous outdoor recovery training.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver classroom, laboratory, simulator, and hands-on field instruction for

• Provide Warrant Officer-level technical and tactical instruction related to Army automotive maintenance and recovery operations.
• Instruct students in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and recovery procedures.
• Teach and demonstrate:
• Electrical schematic tracing
• Controller Area Network (CAN) bus principles and theory
• Electronic Control Module (ECM) logic
• Engine and transmission systems
• Vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Wheeled, tracked, and Stryker maintenance H8/H9 recovery operations
• Conduct technical and tactical training involving wheeled, tracked, Stryker, and recovery platforms.
• Lead rigorous outdoor H8/H9 vehicle recovery training .
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults involving training equipment, simulators, and trainers.
• Evaluate student performance through written examinations, practical exercises, and hands-on testing.
• Develop, review, and update course materials, training aids, manuals, and other instructional products when assigned.
• Apply current Army regulations, doctrine, and training standards governing Warrant Officer, MOS-, and ASI-specific instruction.
• Maintain all required MOS, ASI, technical, tactical, and instructor certifications.
• Perform instructional and technical duties independently with minimal guidance. Required 915A Military Experience Candidates must:
• Be qualified and experienced as a 915A - Automotive Maintenance Warrant Officer/Automotive Maintenance Technician.
• Possess a minimum of five years of applicable MOS experience .
• Have at least four years of prior military service and have been honorably discharged, or currently serve as a National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve/ Senior Noncommissioned Officer.
• Have served at the grade of Sergeant/E-5 or above .
• Be certified in the applicable MOS or feeder MOS before beginning performance.
• Possess required ASI-specific technical training, including H8 or H9 , when required for assigned instruction.
• MOS and military qualifications must be supported by a DD Form 214, applicable MOS certificate, or other required documentation. Required Technical and Tactical Experience Candidates must possess:
• At least three years of technical experience and three years of tactical experience in 915A or an applicable feeder MOS, unless otherwise specified.
• At least three years of hands-on technical and tactical experience involving wheeled, tracked, Stryker, and recovery platforms.
• At least three years of technical and tactical experience updating tracked-vehicle software using Maintenance Support Device (MSD) V2, V3, and V4 , when available.
• Experience conducting H8/H9 recovery operations.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicle systems, training equipment, simulators, and trainers. Required Platform Experience Candidates must have applicable experience with Army vehicle and recovery platforms, including:
• Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV)
• Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV)/Medium Tactical Vehicle (MTV)

• Wheeled and tracked recovery platforms Required Systems Knowledge Candidates must possess the technical expertise necessary to instruct students in:
• Electrical schematic tracing

• Allison 2500, 3700, and 4500 transmissions
• Caterpillar 3126B and C7 engines
• Banks engine systems
• Vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Wheeled, tracked, and Stryker maintenance
• H8/H9 vehicle recovery operations Instructor Qualifications Candidates must:
• Meet all applicable instructor qualifications established under the supporting contract.
• Meet instructor certification requirements established by TRADOC Regulation 350-1, the CASCOM Certification Standard Operating Procedure , and applicable training SOPs.
• Understand applicable Army regulations and doctrine governing MOS- and ASI-specific training.
• Meet the technical, tactical, and instructor certification requirements for each assigned course.
• Be able to pass, and successfully pass prior to performing applicable instructional services, required written and hands-on student examinations in accordance with applicable Army requirements.
• Be able to obtain TRADOC Initial Military Training Installation Staff and Contractors Training Course (ISCTC) certification.
• Complete ISCTC at the next available Government-designated course start date, subject to space availability.
• Be able to obtain Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFD-IC) certification.
• Complete CFD-IC at the next available Government-designated course start date, subject to space availability.
• Possess superior oral and written communication skills.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Possess excellent organization, planning, coordination, and time-management skills.
• Be capable of working independently with minimal guidance. Education and License Requirements
• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential.
• Competency in basic mathematics, including roots, powers, and metric notation.
• Current Virginia Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in accordance with Army Regulation 600-55. Preferred Qualifications
• Graduate of the 91 Career Management Field Warrant Officer Basic Course.
• At least three years of experience teaching, developing, or reviewing course materials, training aids, and manuals for vocational or military training applicable to Army vehicle maintenance and recovery operations. Physical and Environmental Requirements Candidates must be able to:
• Lift and carry tools, vehicle components, recovery equipment, and training materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Stand, sit, and walk for periods of up to eight hours per day.
• Troubleshoot and repair training equipment, simulators, and trainers.
• Conduct strenuous outdoor vehicle-recovery training.
• Work outdoors during inclement weather.
• Perform duties in temperatures ranging from approximately 10°F to 110°F .
• Safely perform hands-on instructional duties around military vehicles, maintenance equipment, and recovery systems. Place of Performance Work will be performed in person and on-site in classrooms, offices, buildings, warehouses, and designated training areas at:
• Fort Lee, Virginia
• Fort Walker, Virginia Performance at Fort Walker may be required for training activities that cannot be accomplished at Fort Lee.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced 915A Automotive Maintenance Warrant Officer with extensive hands-on expertise in Army vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and recovery operations. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with the ability to translate complex maintenance concepts into effective classroom and hands-on instruction for Army students. Candidates should be comfortable independently leading demanding technical instruction, troubleshooting complex vehicle systems, and conducting rigorous outdoor recovery training under challenging environmental conditions.
