Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

Saunders Brothers is a wholesale nursery and orchard operation in central Virginia. Saunders Brothers is looking for a Maintenance Technician in our Maintenance department. • Assist in the maintenance, renovation, and construction of employee housing.
• Assist in the construction and maintenance of greenhouses.
• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pump houses and irrigation systems.
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of buildings.
• Willingness to work between multiple farm locations.
• Work independently and cooperatively with other members of the maintenance team and direct the work of other team members as assigned. Work with other employees who do not speak English and be open to learning Spanish.
• Able to work Saturdays and after hours, as necessary.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Able to lift 75 lbs. and be able spend at least 8 hours per day standing. In addition, must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and twist around for at least 8 hours per day. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather.
• Able to read a tape measure, safely operate construction hand and power tools, climb ladders, and be physically able to perform other construction tasks.
• Must have good organizational skills, be able to prioritize workload, and have flexibility as work demands change.
• Must be physically capable of performing the responsibilities and requirements of this position.
• Must have insurable driver's license.

Supervisor:

This position will answer directly to the Director of Maintenance and Facilities.

Pay and Benefits:
