Job Description

SUMMARY The selected candidate for this position will support Quality Engineer initiatives to improve internal and external quality for supported product lines and achieve related targets of 97% first pass yield.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Technician II will have a good working knowledge of all assigned product lines, and will perform one or more of the following tasks/jobs: Inspect parts per industry best practice Create inspection plans and advise on inspection gage/process for mechanical parts, components, and assemblies Inspect parts to ensure compliance with all specified requirements and complete and manage required documentation as applicable (FAI, PPK, etc..) Program and Operate, as applicable, the Optical Comparator (OGP), Faro Portable CMM, Hardness measurement equipment and other various inspection systems and gages. Maintain daily 5S and Metrics Complete Containment / Second Final Inspection Audits for all products Issue and/or complete Corrective Action Requests to the appropriate support resources Complete internal audits to verify Quality Management System RAD document compliance Perform In-Process Audits to verify workmanship standards are being followed Help maintain tier-2 quality documents (such as, Quality Standard Procedures, Quality Control Plans) Work with QE and ME controlling and dispositioning non-conforming product—Discrepant Material and Rework Order (DMRO) Ensure that DMROs are written for all nonconforming material Work with QE and ME to determine root cause on internal and external quality issues Work with QE and ME to implement desired corrective and preventive actions Perform functions in Oracle, Microsoft Access, Excel, and Outlook Provide technician support for the Quality Engineers as required. May include data collection, customer failure analyses, document filing and/or other quality related activities Correlate data, update daily and weekly internal quality metrics and/or audit results Apply knowledge from field returns to post pack audit process (what to audit and how often) Participate in daily Gemba or Go-and-See production meetings Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Two-year degree in a related area is preferred Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in related field is required Strong technical background is required to troubleshoot required Prior experience in an inspection department or with in process inspection tools and methods preferred, but not required CNC machine programming and operation experience preferred Must be able to read and work to prints and work instructions Experience and knowledge of metrology and inspection techniques, tools, materials and equipment required Must have experience with and knowledge of basic hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other mechanical measurement devices Thorough knowledge of
ANSI Y14.5
Dimensioning and Tolerances and
ISO 9001
preferred Must have basic understanding and usage of mechanical gauging equipment and electrical test equipment Use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the failure mode of the product Requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Must have good communication and computer skills Must be self-directed and able to work well in a team environment Microsoft Excel, Access, and Outlook Experience required
Physical Demand and Work Environment:
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work-related hazards include moving heavy motors, using high voltage, and working with chemicals. Working on the plant floor requires wearing common protective and safety equipment.
