Job Title:
Facility Maintenance Technician Job Description The Facility Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on warehouse facilities, equipment, and building systems. This role ensures smooth warehouse operations by maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment while adhering to company safety standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections of warehouse facilities, building systems, and equipment to identify maintenance needs and safety issues. Carry out general carpentry work, including repairs and installations, to maintain facility structures and fixtures. Complete painting tasks and drywall repair, with a strong focus on drywall work during the first six months. Perform minor concrete repairs to keep floors, walkways, and other surfaces in good condition. Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime. Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized repairs or services are required. Maintain warehouse cleanliness and ensure all work areas meet safety and housekeeping standards. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations to support continuous operations. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventories of tools, parts, and supplies using basic computer systems. Operate power tools, hand tools, lifts, and other maintenance equipment safely and efficiently. Support facility improvement projects and assist with installation of new equipment and systems. Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies, promoting a culture of safety in all maintenance activities. Apply blueprint reading and mechanical skills to understand systems and plan repair or installation work. Utilize preventive maintenance practices to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned outages. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Previous experience in building or industrial maintenance preferred. Experience or strong comfort with drywall repair and finishing, particularly during the first six months. Basic computer skills for documenting maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory. Ability to perform preventive maintenance on warehouse facilities and equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and components. Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and basic electrical repairs. Knowledge of plumbing systems and ability to address common plumbing issues. Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools, machinery, and building systems. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, lifts, and other maintenance equipment safely. Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and implement effective repairs. Attention to detail in performing repairs, documenting work, and maintaining safety standards. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team. Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and kneel for extended periods while performing maintenance tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in apartment maintenance is welcomed and considered relevant. Experince in automotive repair is beneficial for mechanical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance. Ability to read and interpret blueprints to understand facility layouts and systems. Familiarity with industrial or warehouse environments and related building systems. Strong commitment to following OSHA regulations and company safety policies. You work with a variety of tools and equipment, including power tools, hand tools, lifts, and maintenance machinery, and regularly move through different areas of the facility, including production and storage spaces. The standard shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering stable daytime hours. The environment requires frequent standing, walking, bending, ladder climbing, and kneeling, as well as lifting up to 40 pounds. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
