Preventative Maintenance Technician (Fife, WA) Waste Connections - 3.1 Fife, WA Job Details Full-time $31.75 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Murrey's Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Swing Shift Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Fife, Washington. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on a fleet of diesel trucks and heavy equipment. Candidates interested in stable, long-term employment are encouraged to apply.
Pay and Schedule:
Starting pay is $31.75 per hour, which includes the applicable shift differential. Schedule is Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with consistent overtime averaging 3-7 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance on commercial diesel vehicles and heavy equipment, including yellow iron Complete required documentation using fleet maintenance software, including parts usage and repair times Conduct equipment safety inspections to ensure operational standards are met Review and address repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) Communicate effectively with drivers and team members regarding maintenance needs Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards Perform general shop cleaning and maintenance duties as needed
Qualifications:
At least one year of experience performing preventative maintenance on diesel trucks is preferred Experience in a commercial or related mechanical repair field is a plus Valid driver's license required Basic tool set and toolbox required Basic computer skills with the ability to learn diagnostic software Strong communication skills, reliability, and a willingness to learn This is a safety-sensitive position.
