Job Description

Cowlitz Timber Trails Association is a membership campground near Salkum, WA. Maintenance Worker II performs semi-skilled to skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work assigned to the maintenance department, operates maintenance and constructions tools and equipment, and performs a variety of maintenance tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. The right candidate for this position will also have a strong working electrical background. In addition, self motivation and the ability to work well with others in a team environment is a must. A valid Washington driver's license is required.
Representative Duties:
The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices. Perform general electrical, painting, plumbing, and carpentry work as needs. Make minor adjustments on service equipment, maintain tools and equipment in working order. Oversee the work of volunteer workers. Inspect park grounds, structures and related facilities for safety, appearance, and vandalism -- remove graffitti from park surfaces. Janitorial duties - to include emptying trash, cleaning restrooms, showers, and facilities. Clean and clear park grounds facilities, structures, and playing fields of debris and potentially dangerous conditions. Set-up park for special events. Plant, mow, prune, and maintain turf, trees, shrubs, and plants. Clear site of weeds. Perform a wide variety of semi-skilled tasks in the construction and repair of park facilities. Install, maintain, and repair water system. Perform electrical repairs and installations for individual lots. Operate ground maintenance equipment as well as a variety of hand and power tools. Apply pesticide, herbicide, and other pest management treatments. Prepare work order bids. Record time and supplies for member work orders. Maintain logs and tracking. Use tractor and backhoe to fulfill member gravel and plumbing/electrical work orders, plus repair to systems and maintaining roads/grounds. Fill member propane tanks. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Of:
Debris clean-up. Principles and practices of maintenance and repair activities related to area of assignment; Common tools, materials, and motorized vehicles and equipment used in assigned area of responsibility; Repair and maintenance of pumps and valves; Park and landscape maintenance; Basic mathematical principles; Safe work practices and policies; Techniques and procedures in basic carpentry, metal, masonry, painting, mechanical, and electrical work.
Ability To:
Be self-motivated. Work with a variety of tools related to park maintenance; Learn to safely operate a variety of maintenance equipment; Perform heavy manual labor; Perform semi-skilled maintenance duties; Understand and follow oral and written instruction; Read and understand schematic diagrams; Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contracted in the course of work.
