Job Description
The City of Sunnyside has an opening for the position of Facilities Maintenance Custodian in the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for a variety of facilities maintenance and janitorial tasks throughout City facilities. The Facilities Maintenance Custodian will be required to operate a variety of equipment including hand tools, appliances and a variety of light equipment to accomplish duties. Examples of job duties may include the following: Performs janitorial services to all City facilities that are open to the public and/or house City Staff, including but not limited to: garbage removal, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, and disinfecting frequently visited areas. Performs general building maintenance duties. Maintains stock of janitorial and general supplies across all City facilities. Complete regular logs, reports, and records regarding materials, time and equipment utilized to complete a project. Assists with moving desks, fixtures, and furniture to accommodate changes to work areas. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or G.E.D. Valid Washington State Driver's License One (1) year experience in janitorial services, building maintenance, or related field. Previous experience working with various appliances, hand tools, or other small equipment. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
