This hands-on role requires a well-rounded professional capable of performing journeyman-level work across both planned projects and urgent maintenance needs in a professional, public-facing environment. This position requires a high level of independence across multiple locations and a proactive, solution-oriented approach. The ideal candidate is a multi-skilled trades professional with strong attention to detail, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to safety, cleanliness, and delivering high-quality service. Essential Functions The Regional Maintenance Mechanic will perform a variety of skilled, journeyman-level trades work that will include: Performing day-to-day maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, cabinetry repair, patching, painting, and amenity upgrades. Servicing and maintaining kitchen appliances including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, and water coolers. Assisting with project completion efforts, including space preparation and coordination outside contractor scope. Completing carpentry and finishing work such as installing cabinetry, doors, countertops, workstations, and replacing carpet tiles. Responding to facility emergencies including water events and fire alarms while ensuring building system functionality. Monitoring HVAC and fire suppression systems to ensure proper operation. Supporting property appearance through light grounds maintenance, litter control, and small outdoor projects. Maintaining a high level of professionalism with tenants, partners, and staff across all sites.
Qualifications and Competencies Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED AND Journey Level Certification status in a building and/or construction trade OR A minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in a construction trade equivalent to Journey Level Experience AND 3-5 years of experience in a building and/or construction trade.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of: Industry, organization, and departmental operating guidelines, best practices, ordinances and laws. One or more of the following: carpentry, plumbing, painting & drywall, appliance, electrical, HVAC, Re-pinning locks, Window Glazing repairs and maintenance.
The ability to:
Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; perform measurements. Communicate effectively in oral and written form and multitask. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Authority management, employees, vendors, and the public. Skill in preparing and interpreting work orders, drawings, schematics, CNA (Comprehensive Needs Assessments) of properties, and preventive maintenance records. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, fire panels, work phone operation, and maintenance equipment.
Special Requirements:
Consent to and pass a driver's and criminal records background check. Must possess a valid driver's license in order to travel regularly between work sites. Consent to and pass a Physical Abilities Test and required assessments. Completion of PPE, Environmental safety, CPR/First Aid, De-escalation, Asbestos & Lead Base paint, Trailer Operation, Hazardous materials and waste disposal, and Small Equipment Safety training within one year of hire. Salary & Benefits:
The starting salary for this position is $46.06 - $48.35 per hour depending on experience and education. The full salary schedule is $46.06 - $51.87 per hour. A comprehensive health care benefits package for you and your dependents includes medical, dental and vision insurance, life and long-term disability insurance plans, vacation, sick and personal leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits are available.
