7am-3pm QPS Employment Group is hiring a CNC Maintenance Technician for a company in Elkhorn, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity. CNC Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on CNC machines and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and servo systems using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues using appropriate test equipment
  • Calibrate and align machine components to meet precision tolerances
  • Follow all safety procedures, including strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols
  • Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks in alignment with production schedules
  • Document maintenance activities, downtime, and parts usage in the maintenance management system
  • Partner with operators and supervisors to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions
  • Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and facility improvements
  • Fabricate tooling and fixtures as needed
  • Monitor consumable tooling levels and communicate replenishment needs
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and safe work practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
CNC Maintenance Technician Requirements:
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Solid understanding of CNC machinery and manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems and CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens preferred)
  • Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills
  • Experience with precision measuring tools and machine alignment
  • Familiarity with CNC programming concepts (M-Code knowledge a plus)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred
  • 3-5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting CNC equipment
  • Additional training in electronics or electrical systems preferred
  • Welding or fabrication training a plus
  • Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or Siemens controls preferred
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting experience required
  • Certified electrician designation is a plus
  • Experience with CNC machines, paper machines, printing presses, or similar industrial equipment preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Windows-based systems)
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, electrical systems, dust, and pressurized equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including climbing, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to move throughout the facility and work safely around machinery
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed
  • Opportunity to transition to alternate shifts after initial training period based on business needs
