Maintenance Mechanic Job Description This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining blow molding equipment and a variety of robotics and automation systems in a highly automated, clean, and climate-controlled facility. You will work closely with maintenance electricians to ensure all mechanical and electro-mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities Work collaboratively with maintenance electricians to troubleshoot and repair blow molding equipment and automation systems. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on conveyors, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and various tanks. Perform mechanical troubleshooting on robotics and other automated production equipment to minimize downtime. Conduct electrical troubleshooting on equipment, including identifying faults and assisting with corrective actions. Support PLC troubleshooting activities as needed to resolve equipment and control system issues. Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on injection molding and blow molding equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to guide maintenance and repair activities. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to support accurate record-keeping and continuous improvement. Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Collaborate with operations and production teams to prioritize work, support efficient workflows, and maintain equipment availability. Essential Skills Strong mechanical background with hands-on experience in equipment maintenance and repair. Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems, including conveyors, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and tanks. Experience working with blow molding equipment or similar automated production machinery. Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting on industrial equipment in partnership with maintenance electricians. Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and understanding of basic control system functions. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation. Experience in plastics manufacturing environments, including blow molding or injection molding. Demonstrated ability to perform equipment repairs safely and efficiently in a production setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with injection molding equipment troubleshooting and repair. background in plastics processing, including blow molding and related automation. Exposure to robotics and automated material handling systems. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Solid communication skills to coordinate with electricians, operators, and other maintenance personnel. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and repair. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time, first-shift role with a typical schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The facility is very clean, climate controlled, and currently operates only on first shift, providing a stable and predictable work schedule. You will work around new equipment and highly automated systems in a modern warehouse environment that is currently utilizing only a portion of its capacity, offering a spacious and organized setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
