3:00pm-11:00pm Monday-Friday We are seeking a skilled Plastics Maintenance Mechanic to support a growing manufacturing operation producing plastic products. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, with a strong focus on minimizing downtime and improving equipment reliability. This is a hands-on position working on extrusion and thermoforming equipment. Candidates must have demonstrated experience diagnosing and resolving equipment issues in a manufacturing environment, not just performing setups or changeovers. This is a direct hire opportunity in Sturtevant, WI. Plastics Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment to minimize downtime
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic PLC troubleshooting
- Maintain and repair extrusion and thermoforming machinery
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions
- Support changeovers and ensure machines are running efficiently post-setup
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support operations
Plastics Maintenance Mechanic Requirements:
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with production equipment
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
- Comfortable working independently on 2nd shift
- Preferred experience in plastics manufacturing (extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding, or blow molding)
- Preferred familiarity with PLC systems and controls
- Preferred experience in food-grade or packaging manufacturing environments
- Preferred strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Manufacturing environment with moving machinery and moderate to high noise levels
- Use of personal protective equipment required
- Standing, walking, and lifting required as part of daily duties
