Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and repairing injection molding and blow molding machinery, as well as supporting equipment, in a clean, automated, and robotics-driven manufacturing facility that produces K-cups, coffee cups, and packaging for medical and food applications. The Maintenance Technician uses strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and troubleshooting skills to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production and facility systems. Responsibilities Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair injection molding and blow molding machines to ensure consistent and efficient production of packaging products. Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on mechanical components such as gears, pumps, cooling systems, conveyors, and sprockets to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Diagnose and repair issues with hoists, cranes, HVAC systems, piping, and air compressors throughout the facility. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic components, including robotics, fuses, relays, switches, power supplies, capacitors, cabinet wiring, and single-phase and three-phase motors. Support and maintain PLC-based systems, including platforms such as Siemens, to ensure proper machine control and automation functionality. Use blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings to identify issues and guide effective repairs and modifications. Apply hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge to diagnose and resolve problems with cylinders, valves, hoses, and related systems. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, perform root-cause analysis, and implement lasting corrective actions to improve reliability. Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in training and skill development programs to advance through the maintenance technician levels and expand technical capabilities. Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on machinery, electrical systems, and elevated or confined areas. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to maintain accurate records and support future troubleshooting. Essential Skills Proven experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working on gears, pumps, cooling systems, conveyors, and sprockets. Practical knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair of related systems. Experience troubleshooting and repairing injection molding and blow molding machinery or similar industrial equipment. Ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase motors, fuses, relays, switches, power supplies, and capacitors. Experience working with robotics and automated equipment in a production environment. Familiarity with PLC systems, including platforms such as Siemens, for machine control and automation. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to systematically diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues. Experience with industrial maintenance practices, including preventive maintenance and equipment reliability. Additional Skills & Qualifications Formal technical schooling or vocational training in maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field is a plus. Robotics training or certifications are highly desirable. Experience working in automated and robotics-intensive facilities. Comfort working with hoists, cranes, HVAC systems, piping, and air compressors. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development to progress through maintenance technician levels (A-D). Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a tenured maintenance team. Why Work Here? Work Environment The facility is clean, climate controlled, and highly automated, with a strong focus on robotics and modern production technology. The operation runs extended shifts, with a 1st shift from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and a 3rd shift from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with a pay premium offered for the night shift. New hires typically receive training on day shift for an initial period before transitioning to their regular schedule. The environment includes injection molding and blow molding machines, hoists, cranes, HVAC systems, piping, air compressors, and other industrial equipment. Uniforms are provided, with multiple sets issued, supporting a professional and consistent appearance on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Sussex, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $850000.00/yr.
