Job Description
Position Overview The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure efficient operations. This role supports uptime across the production floor through preventative maintenance, mechanical and electrical repairs, and a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement. Core Responsibilities Duties may expand based on operational needs and include: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery and equipment to minimize downtime Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Execute lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe equipment servicing Complete routine electrical and mechanical repairs on manufacturing equipment Support facility maintenance, including interior, exterior, and grounds upkeep Maintain and repair production tools, including saws and related machinery Perform basic forklift maintenance and minor repairs Operate machine tools to fabricate or restore parts as needed Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards Communicate equipment issues and repair status with production teams and leadership Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or production environment Associate degree or technical certification in maintenance, industrial technology, or related field preferred Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, electrical controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics Welding experience is a plus Working knowledge of industrial safety practices, including LOTO procedures Ability to operate maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and machine shop tools Valid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment Technical & Professional Skills Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance systems or Microsoft Office Strong communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally with operations teams Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Work Environment & Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Ability to lift and move materials as needed Work performed in a production environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying conditions
