Job Description

Generac, a leader in power and energy solutions, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the functionality, safety, and efficiency of our facilities. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and general maintenance tasks , while maintaining a clean and professional environment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our Corporate Office in Waukesha . The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing HVAC emergency, routine, and preventive maintenance , including changing filters and belts , while maintaining a safe work environment and effectively communicating with team members. Additionally, this role involves training employees and supporting the R&D Lab with daily problem-solving, quick fixes, and preventive maintenance. The Maintenance Technician I will also assist in various general facilities maintenance tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform HVAC equipment inspections, preventive maintenance (PMs), filter changes, and belt replacements (most other HVAC work will be outsourced). Conduct water testing (training provided). Assist with general facilities repairs , including painting, wallpaper repair, and bathroom fixture repairs. Support office relocations by moving and disposing of office and conference room furniture . Maintain facility cleanliness inside and outside , including trash and recycling removal and management. Perform snow removal, grass cutting, trimming, landscaping, and cleanup . Ensure parking lot cleanliness and perform necessary maintenance. Conduct painting tasks, including cleaning and prepping surfaces . Fill in for other facilities personnel as needed and assist with overhead doors, rooftop units, and other facility maintenance functions .
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent . Preferably an HVAC Certificate/Degree or Associate's in Maintenance . 0-2 years of experience in HVAC maintenance. Ability to think outside the box , self-motivated , trustworthy , and willing to work in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in facilities maintenance . Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, or carpentry work . Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting . Why Join Us?

Physical Demands:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Temperatures can vary from cool to warm depending upon the season. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
