Job Description

SummaryUnder direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of the equipment and facility, checking work orders daily to perform all maintenance duties and repairs, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Completes required preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other equipment Troubleshoots and repairs all manufacturing equipment (Drilling machines, paint line, presses, forklifts etc.)Performs routine electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipmentPerforms general maintenance and repairs of facility and grounds (including basic carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, groundskeeping etc.)Inspects all building locations, and schedules repairsFabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipmentMaintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levelUses tape measure, caliper, micrometer and other measuring tools to perform tasks accordinglySupports operations as needed QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentAt least 3 years of Maintenance Technician experience required, preferably in a manufacturing settingUnderstanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systemsExperience with building maintenance (plumbing, carpentry, painting, groundskeeping)Experience providing routine preventative maintenanceExperience providing manufacturing equipment troubleshooting and repairPrevious experience in a steel or metal shop recommended Other skillsStrong electrical and mechanical aptitudeKnowledge of lathes, mills, lasers, brake presses, shears, robotics and other manufacturing equipment highly preferred. Steel or metal shop experience a plusFamiliarity with typical maintenance tools and equipmentAbility to identify potential issues or hazardsStrong problem-solving skillsAttention to detail. Desire to provide quality workTime management skills/ ability to prioritize

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. Eye protection, ear protection, and safety toed shoes are required. Protective equipment may vary depending upon projects.
