Job Description N&D is looking for experienced Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Technicians to support the installation, maintenance, programming, troubleshooting, and service of low voltage systems in commercial, construction, renovation, data center, inside plant, and outside plant environments. This position includes work during and after construction and may involve aerial work, trenching, new construction, remodels, MDF/IDF buildouts, data centers, and customer-occupied facilities. Technicians may work with systems including, but not limited to: Structured cabling Fiber optic cabling Voice and data cabling Security systems CCTV / camera systems Access control Intercom systems Telephone systems Network jacks and patch panels Speakers and antennas Inside plant and outside plant infrastructure Key Responsibilities Install, move, add, change, and modify telecommunications, network, and low voltage equipment in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. Install structured cabling systems for voice, data, security, access control, CCTV, fiber, and related low voltage systems. Pull, route, dress, label, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling. Terminate low voltage wiring, patch panels, jacks, equipment, enclosures, racks, and cabinets. Mount and install devices, equipment, pathways, support hardware, racks, cabinets, and related infrastructure. Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, equipment, and system-related issues with accuracy and professionalism. Read and interpret prints, drawings, scopes of work, and project documentation. Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas. Complete required job documentation, service records, labeling, testing, and closeout information. Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, general contractors, and other trades. Follow company standards, safety requirements, and customer site rules. Continue developing job knowledge through hands-on experience, training, and industry best practices. Work independently or as part of a team while maintaining accountability for quality and productivity. Travel as required and support after-hours, overnight, weekend, and on-call work when needed.
Required Experience Fiber installation:
2 years required Structured cabling: 2 years required Fiber splicing: 1 year required Experience working in commercial, construction, renovation, data center, inside plant, or outside plant environments preferred. Experience with CCTV, access control, security, intercom, voice/data, MDF/IDF, and network infrastructure preferred. Qualifications Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision. Must take pride in quality workmanship and professional presentation. Must be dependable, accountable, and able to meet project deadlines. Must be able to follow directions, read project documentation, and communicate clearly. Must be willing to travel up to 50% . Must be available for overtime, overnight work, weekends, and on-call assignments as needed. Must be able to work safely in active construction and customer environments. Must be able to lift, carry, climb ladders, work overhead, and perform physical tasks associated with low voltage installation.
